Final Blog Post

Lessons to live by

1) It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop. This shows that you should never stop and that as long and you persevere you can achieve your goals.

2) It always seems impossible until it is done. No matter how big the task or project is, there is still a chance that you will be able to finish it.

3) If you can dream it you can do it. This shows that you should let your creativity be free and that you should not stop to achieve your goals.

4) Either you run the day or the day runs you. Don't be lazy, keep working and don't procrastinate.

5) Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence. You don't have to be perfect but if you try you can succeed at being normal.

6) Believe you can and your half way there. This tells you again to persevere and to believe in yourself.

7) If opportunity doesn't knock then build a door. If your stuck waiting for something then go out and do it yourself.

8) No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. Always be kind to one another and always be nice to yourself and others around you.

Outside Reading Q4

Erne by the coast starts off with a young boy named henry and how he is tending to a sick lamb. After he gets the lamb to feel a little better and can live on its own he just goes back to tending to the flock and checking on the lamb. One night as he is putting the sheep away to sleep an eagle comes and takes a lamb away and kills it, but when he tells his father he does not believe him. So to prove to his father that it was an eagle that killed the lamb, he goes to find the eagle and bring it back.

Henry was transformed by the end of the story in ways not only physical but mental. One way he changed is from the scars that will form from the cuts on his body, these also will remind him of his dog dying, but also his triumph against the eagle. Another change is that he will be more confident and also his father will respect him more which will make him feel better about himself. The main cause of these transformations is the fight with the eagle and his dad telling him that the eagle didn't actually come. My big transformation is when I first started using a computer because it made me who I am today and because it got me into video games which is a big part of my life.

My Parents

Besides looks, I am similar to my parents in many ways. With my mom, I share interests in food and in art, as well in some ways with my dad, but mainly I share personal interests and conversation skills with my dad, along with favorite genres. I differ with my mom with some of my political beliefs as well as with my dad, also my sports interests.

With my dad, I've come to agree with him on many things and also start to enjoy some of the things he creates more and more, but I've also drifted from some of the things I've agreed on with him when I was younger. My mom, on the other hand, I've stayed mostly the same only really changing my feelings with her or what I agree with her on few occasions but I've mostly just started liking more of the things that she like.

Most Important Innovation in Human History

The most important innovation has to be antibiotics. Antibiotics have changed the world by allowing millions of people to have access to medical care and to have a chance to survive illnesses. It is easy to advance and easy to distribute to the world and can be improved on and changed to fight other viruses. It has also lowered the amount of deaths in war by stopping diseases from spreading and by helping people survive infections. It has also brought rise to the medical revolution saving millions of lives.

Progressive Era Blog

I think the 3 most important issues they dealt with that are still going on today and the farming monopolies, political reform, and workers rights. Farming monopolies today are some of the most brutal companies and they control large parts of congress and large parts of the economy. Political reform is one of the most brought up topics today and with the next election coming up it is beginning to be a large topic for debate. Workers rights have always been a big thing and with factories getting bigger and bigger it will continue to be a big topic for debate.

Transforming

I would like to transform the space program and I would like to spend more money progressing space travel so that one day we could explore further out into our solar system. This I fell is one of the things that we have lost interest in as a whole race, and I think we could really do with more exploration. It is in our DNA to explore and survive in far out places and this might actually might start to bring us closer together than ever.

The Fog Horn

“The Fog Horn” by Ray Bradbury

I am alone. I came to that noise because, despite the obvious answer, I thought maybe I did not have to be alone. November was the month that my son was born so I believed that if any day that someone would come to me, it might be that one. The journey was a long one. It made me think about why I was doing this and was this right?

As I was swimming through the water, I often thought about the chance of this being wrong, and if I should turn back or not. Most of those thoughts faded away as I got closer to half way there. Every time I hear the horn I have to keep myself from responding, because it might just ruin me. When I had reached the surface, I felt that I must have been right this time and that this time I would be free of all this regret and sadness.

When I finally reached the tower, I knew that I was never going to be saved and that it was all my fault what had happened all those years ago. This regret soon to to anger, and when the horn stopped, my only light in life was gone, and I was done. I attacked the tower in a fit a rage even when the horn went back on. This only made things worse, and I cried and cried until I had to leave the bay on last time. I will not tempt my soul again by going there; I will stay where I belong, in the valley of my family's bones.

R A F T

Today we have seen the worst in humanity, I've seen young men, not even twenty, cry out for their mothers and fathers in their last moments on the earth. The weapons we use could kill a man five times over in a single blow, and the ground will forever be scorched. I've seen men commit atrocities in the name of war, and I've seen brothers mourn over their brothers bodies, despite being on opposing sides, today I fear we have strayed from our original goal of peace, it is only war now.

museum of tolerance

I think that being a witness means that you value yourself over other people, which in most cases is fine but in the example of the holocaust, just helping one person, will make a difference. I think the museum kind of changed me but not really because I had already had knowledge of the holocaust but I think putting it all together really made it easier to understand and comprehend.

Reading, Outside

The protagonist Lee Waite, in the short story "60 Acres" by Raymond Carver is faced with making two important decisions. One being to let the kids go even though they were hunting on his land. And two, to decide to lease the property even though it's a reservation.

Those two decisions, although one being small, show a lot about the character and how he would act in other situations. The first decision shows that he cares about kids but is also very mysterious and reclusive. He acted the entire time like wanting to kill them or shoot at them, yet his real intentions were to always let them go. The second decision really shows how a property he once loved and cared about, has just become a trouble and how money and feeding his family are just more important to him than sentimental value. A decision that has changed me has been my decision to do what has always interested me and choose engineering as my elective for seventh grade which will change my life forever because now I can finally apply my knowledge of science to real life.

4) Legacy: I would put a piece of a comic strip that my grandpa wrote.

wesley in the west

Thank you for all the support, the sharks are better, but someone got lost in the maze, so make of that what you will.

Anyways I believe I have grown up a child of the west so to say because I have grown up in the western world, as in, I have grown up in one of the newest yet fastest growing areas in the world and have the luxuries of waking up in a good house to a good breakfast with my family and friends, without having to worry about war or civil unrest.

SCIENCE!

Again I can't stress it enough, but please use the map, some poor kid fell into the shark tank last week and now the sharks won't eat anything, not because they ate the kid, but because he landed on one and punched their noses.

The first thing on my mask that shows any significance is the mouse and keyboard, this represents my love for gaming and for the fact that it's on the front, it shows that nearly everyone I meet knows that I love gaming and usually asks me about it. the next obvious thing is the cat ears and whiskers, I have two cats and I love all cats. Finally, the spaceship shows my love for rocketry and space exploration, this has been one of my favorite subjects since as long as I could remember.

Now onto the back, there is more color here because people don't usually know my varied stances on many subjects and also because my favorite color is blue. Next is science, I love science and it ties into my love with rocketry and space, but since I love video games and will do whatever it takes to play them, many people would not expect that I like learning especially a slow topic like science. Last but not least, friends, I enjoy spending time with all my friends and they make me get up in the morning and dull long school days or boring classes (not that that happens a lot).

75 years

Welcome to my humble blog, try not to get lost I had to drag a kid out of the moat last week so just be careful.

Obviously in 75 years I will be rich and famous but besides that I would like to be known for my open stance on religion and on other lifestyles, I would also want to be known for giving out money to anyone in need. I would mostly want to be known for making people laugh as for me, as long as I make someone laugh every day, I'm happy.

wesley al'a mode

1 1/2 cup sugar
2 cups butter
3 kgs crab meat
3/4s a cup of science
2gs of video games
1/2 teaspoon surf
6gs love of cats (very rare but makes it 10 times better)
1/2 teaspoon salt
steps
1: preheat oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit
2: cook for 15 minutes, really just a base number just eyeball it really
3: pour the sauce on and put the butter on

I personally serve it at thanksgiving or at Christmas it really just fits there and it makes the mood 10x better. Also, I would recommend serving it with some seafood or just bread rolls because the sauce is usually something to fight over.

In "The Party" the main character, Herman, goes to a party and meets his crush. But at the party he did not expect so many other kids there, and when he finally gets alone time with her, his hair stands up and ruins it all for him. The rest of the night he has to watch in horror as his dream girl dances and talks to anyone but him.
I would have to ask him if flipping his hair to the other side was really necessary. Also I would have not asked her to go back out to the garage because that just sounds creepy.

Revolution post

Speaking of revolutions here's one I would back up, the space revolution!
If any a revolution were necessary, this would be the one, it would give us a chance to expand our species beyond the reaches of Earth and maybe even the solar system, it would give an opportunity to see maybe other life and see our own life differently. This I think would be a HUGE step in our evolution and be the stepping stone for advancing our race and maybe even bring peace to our planet by uniting our world in one cause.

Thursday, October 15, 2015

My utopia would be an intergalactic empire that would incorporate dying or struggling species into the empire to help them live and breed, everyone would go through a school system tailored to what they want to be and they would then would that craft for as long as they choose to. All people would be welcomed and each new race would get a high ranking officer in a council of elders that would decide the most important decisions and give the populace a choice on what to do. Religion is whatever you choose to worship and science and religion would be intertwined to prevent useless fighting. The buildings would be cultural and would have no one style, and entertainment would be whatever you can buy or do. Science and technology would be a main focus and would be the driving force of the empire.
